
Darlene has been involved in the welfare of the county's senior citizens for most of her adult life. She has been the Coordinator of Senior Services at the Camarillo Health Care District, currently is on the Board of the Area Agency Council on Aging, and serves on the Ventura Senior Coordinating Council.
Cynthia first became interested in the quality of life of seniors while working at a home health care agency in the Pasadena area. Upon moving to Ventura County in 1990 she worked at the Chamber of Commerce and later was employed at the Camarillo Health Care District. She is currently retired and has been on the SNAC Board since 2004. She is editor of the Food for Thought newsletter.
Paul serves as an
appointed commissioner on the Port Hueneme Advisory Council on Aging,
and as Secretary of Chapter 125 of the AARP. He volunteers his time,
efforts and monies to support programs such as congregate dining, which
he feels encourage participatory senior citizen involvement.
Elaine has spent many years volunteering in the area of senior concerns. She had been on the SNAC Board since 1995, and became Treasurer in 2000. She volunteers at the Goebel Center in Thousand Oaks and simultaneously serves on the board of the RSVP Advisory Council there. Elaine is truly tireless in her contributions to the senior community.
Since moving to Ventura County thirteen years ago, Fred has graciously donated much of his time to non-profit organizations serving both seniors and youth. He has served on the Board of the Ventura County Ombudsman Program, and he currently serves on the Ventura County Area Agency on Aging. Fred has assisted in fundraising for Muscular Dystrophy, the Moorpark Boys and Girls Club, California Lutheran University and the Firefighters Association. He also volunteers as a leader in the Moorpark Senior Games.
harlotte has spent over thirty years volunteering her time and efforts. She currently lives in Port Hueneme and is a member of the Port Hueneme Chamber of Commerce, having served as Board President for two terms. She is a member of the Ventura County Professional Women's Network and LEADS, a group established to help business women
network with one another. Charlotte serves on the Port Hueneme Council on Aging and is employed as a Sales Associate with Pre-Paid Legal Services, Inc.
Rose moved to Ventura County in 1973. The following year she began working at St. John's Regional Medical Center (SJRMC) retiring in 2000 as the Credit and Collection Supervisor after twenty-six years of service. Rose then spent four years as a Senior Health Connection Coordinator at Mercy 65 but then returned to SJRMC as an Admitting Supervisor. Although she is officially retired, Rose continues at St. John's as an active volunteer and Auxiliary member. In addition she has served as a council member on the Ventura County Area Agency on Aging since 1990; she serves on the Ventura Senior Coordinating Council; is a charter member of the Elder Abuse Council; and is Vice President of the SJRMC Golden Classic retirement group.
Vivian moved to Fillmore just four years ago. She serves as a Director on the Fillmore Senior Center Board. In 2009 she was invited to represent the city of Filmore on the Ventura County Area Agency on Aging (VCAAA). She serves on a committee at the VCAAA that integrates with SCAN. Vivian also volunteers time at the Fillmore Senior Center where she recruits and coordinates staffing for the Welcome Desk.
David brings some important management skills to our board. He is a retired Corporate Vice President and Chief Operations Officer. He is a busy volunteer, serving on several committees of the Simi Valley Council on Aging. He is a member of their Speaker's Bureau, their Finance Committee and their Long Range Planning Committee. In addition he gives volunteer time to the Life line Program, the service that provides in-home emergency telephones to seniors and the disabled.
Terry is a long time resident of Camarillo. She recently retired from civil service with the Ventura County Naval Base at Pt. Mugu, where she was a Financial Analyst and Administrative Officer. She brings valuable professional business skills to the board and is the Director responsible for seeking available grant funding.
Mike is a Ventura County native and a broker for RE/MAX Gold Coast Realtor offices throughout the west county. Experiences with elderly family members made him aware of the special services available to seniors within the county. Mike says, "I saw what real issues seniors have with their food and their mobility, I really have respect for older people."
